Crispy Chicken Drumsticks Recipe

Introduction: These crispy chicken drumsticks are perfectly breaded and fried to golden perfection, offering a crunchy exterior and juicy tender chicken inside. Paired with a savory dipping sauce, they make for an irresistible snack or main dish for any occasion!

Ingredients:

  • 10 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • ½ cup of your favorite dipping sauce (barbecue sauce, ranch, or honey mustard)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Chicken: Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture. This helps the breading stick better.
  2. Season the Flour: In a shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the Chicken: Dip each drumstick into the seasoned flour, making sure it’s fully coated. Then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure an even layer.
  4. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. The oil should be hot but not smoking—about 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the Drumsticks: Carefully add the coated drumsticks to the hot oil and fry for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Turn them halfway through for even cooking.
  6. Drain the Chicken: Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.

Enjoy your crispy, golden chicken drumsticks!
