Ingredients
• 1lb (450 g) pork cubes or a pork-veal mix
Salt and pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup flour
- Wooden skewers (4-6
inches long) - Oil for frying
- Optional: chicken broth for baking step
Instructions
1. Prepare the Skewers
- Season meat cubes with
salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. - Thread 3-4 pieces of meat onto each wooden skewer to make “mock drumsticks.”
2. Bread the Skewers
- Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third.
- Coat each skewer in flour.
- Dip into beaten eggs.
- Roll in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
3. Fry Until Golden
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Fry each skewer until golden brown on all sides (about 3-4 minutes per side).
- Place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
4. Optional Baking Step (Traditional Method)
To make them extra tender:
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Place browned skewers in a baking dish.
- Add 1/2 cup chicken broth to the bottom of the dish (not over the skewers).

- Cover with foil and bake for
30-40 minutes.
5. Serve
Serve warm with:
- Mashed potatoes
- Gravy
- Green beans
- Salad
